The draft law "On Demining Activities" was put up for discussion by the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) today, APA reports.
The draft law envisages the implementation of demining activities by individuals and legal entities in Azerbaijan, the formation of an information system on demining activities by an authorized body for the collection, management and use of data related to mine clearance activities, and the conduct of an assessment for the implementation of demining activities.
In addition, the draft law defines the directions of state policy in the field of mine action and the procedure for quality control in demining activities.
The draft law also envisages monitoring of demining activities and assessing the quality of demining activities in accordance with the requirements and standard operating procedures within the framework of quality control.
The document also includes requirements for demining activities in hazardous areas.
The draft law was put to a vote and adopted in the third reading.
