Minister of Justice Farid Ahmadov met with a delegation led by Munther Ibrahim Hussein, President of the Federal Supreme Court of the Republic of Iraq, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, APA reports.
It was noted at the meeting that Azerbaijan and Iraq have always demonstrated solidarity in various international institutions, and that mutual visits and meetings contribute to the development of bilateral cooperation.
Farid Ahmadov emphasized that both peoples are connected by a similar history, common religion, and other spiritual threads, and said that this visit will give an additional impetus to the development of relations between the states, especially legal cooperation. The Minister noted that there are broad opportunities for the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Iran in the legal field.
Munther Ibrahim Hussein expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and noted that mutual visits provide an impetus to the expansion of cooperation between the countries in the field of courts and justice, as well as the progress achieved in the legal field, and the importance of such visits in studying mutual experiences.
The meeting also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest between the parties.
