Polad Rzayev, an ex-Special Forces officer who was treated in Germany after losing both legs in the Patriotic War, was invited to the iftar dinner in Vienna, Austria, which was attended by the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, APA reports.
Mevlut Cavusoglu met with Azerbaijani veteran and shared thoughts within the scope of the event, the brotherhood and solidarity of our countries, peoples, and nations were stressed once more, and the bravery of our heroes was discussed. In the end, they posed for commemorative photos.
Note that the warpath of Polad Rzayev extends from Murov Heights to Gubadli. Participated in the liberation of Kalbajar, Jabrayil Khojavend, and Gubadli, and was awarded medals and orders. Polad Rzayev was the one who pinned the Azerbaijani flag to Jabrayil. On October 19, he was injured in the fighting in Gubadli and lost both legs.
Polad Rzayev was awarded the Medal for Courage and the Order of the Azerbaijan Flag.
