The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan has revealed an epidemiological situation in the country, APA reports.
Specialist and expert of the Ministry of Health Tayyar Eyvazov have noted that the epidemic process in the country is under control: "Although we are in the autumn-winter season which is suitable for spreading infection, It is gratifying for each of us to control the epidemic process. On the opposite, we see that the situation in the many countries in our immediate and distant neighborhood is not gratifying".
T. Eyvazov noted that Azerbaijan has early started the vaccination process which is considered the best effective mean in a fight against the infection today: "Currently, The results of 60% of adult people who have been vaccinated with the two doses of vaccine are obvious. Closures and many other restrictions which were applied in the beginning have been eliminated, our people have been returned to the pre-pandemic life. Vaccination has saved the lives of hundreds of elderly people with various risk factors and chronic diseases. However, protection is not permanent, it weakens over time. First of all, people at risk, including those over 50 years of age, and in general, all people over 18 years of age should strengthen the immunity they have acquired through vaccination or disease. For this, it is needed to vaccinate with the third dose. In the period that vaccines are not accessible in some countries, even the first dose, all needs for having booster dose in Azerbaijan have been provided".
