"The Republic of Azerbaijan is now recognized by the international community as a new donor country," Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yalchin Rafiyev said during his speech at the forum "Internationalization of Science and Higher Education," APA reports.
"In line with our foreign policy objectives, the Republic of Azerbaijan is successfully implementing international aid activities as a responsible, reliable, and progressive member of the global community. The significant political and economic development achieved through systematic and purposeful domestic and foreign policies has increased international interest in Azerbaijan and led to a rise in requests from foreign states and international organizations for assistance. Within the framework of our chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement, as well as our current Presidency of COP29, the said donation activity, which has developed especially in recent years, reflects the centuries-old tradition of benevolence of our people."
"Azerbaijan has provided humanitarian, financial, and technical assistance to more than 140 foreign states, including over 100 members of the Non-Aligned Movement, nearly 50 members of the OIC, 43 of the 46 least developed countries, almost all African nations, and more than half of the small island developing states (SIDS)," Deputy Minister noted.
