A resettlement convoy has been seen off to Ballija village of Azerbaijan's Khojaly, APA reports.

Today, 27 families (152 people) are being relocated to Ballija village in Khojaly district.

Currently, the renovation of 192 individual residential houses in the village is planned. In the first phase, the number of houses to be renovated is 82, while 110 houses will undergo repairs in the second phase.

The village is equipped with water, gas, electricity, and internet services as well. The buildings for a medical and police station, a secondary school with a capacity of 200 students, and a kindergarten with 35 beds have been completed.

Note that Ballija village in Khojaly district is located 10.6 km from Khojaly city. Until the 19th century, it served as the summer pasture for the residents of Ahmadbayli village in the Ganja district. In 1992, it was occupied by Armenia and used as an ammunition depot by the Armenian military. On October 5, 2020, during the Patriotic War, the Azerbaijani Army destroyed the ammunition depot. On September 19-20, 2023, as a result of local anti-terror meausers, the village was liberated.

Recall that currently, more than 30,000 people reside in territories liberated from occupation.
