Azerbaijan Railways, Kyrgyzstan Railways strengthen their joint efforts for development of Middle Corridor

Within the framework of the consultative meeting of heads of railway administrations on the establishment of the "Eurasian Transport Route" International Association held in Baku on September 19-20, 2024, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) Rovshan Rustamov’s next meeting was held with Dastan Usubakunov, Deputy General Director of National Company of “Kyrgyzstan Railways”, Azerbaijan Railways told APA-Economics.

At the meeting, discussions were held on the development prospects of railway cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, issues of common interest, as well as directions of joint action on the development of the Middle Corridor.

In addition, the parties emphasized that there is a potential for transporting more cargo from China through Kyrgyzstan, and that the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China railway line, which will be completed in the near future, will expand the capabilities of the Eurasian Transport Route.
