A new Regulation on Residency is being prepared, and amendments will be made, said the Chairman of the Health Committee of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), Ahliman Amiraslanov, at today's meeting of the committee, APA reports.
The committee chairman said that currently, there are no subspecialties in residency: "However, according to the laws existing today in Türkiye and worldwide, if someone wants to become an oncologist, they enter residency in surgery and, after completing it, continue their education in a subspecialty for 1-3 years. It could be the same in Azerbaijan. There will be specialties such as oncological radiology, thoracic oncology, and neuro-oncology. The Ministry of Health is already working in this direction. The issue of salaries will also be reflected in the new Regulation."
