Azerbaijan almost completed forest restoration in Jabrayil, Zangilan, and Fuzuli

The forest restoration works in Azerbaijan’s Jabrayil, Zangilan and Fuzuli are almost completed, said the head of the Working Group on Environmental Issues and Deputy Azerbaijani Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Vugar Karimov, APA reports.

According to him, forest restoration works are being carried out in 85 hectares of area in Jabrayil, Zangilan and Fuzuli: “Those projects are almost over. At the same time, new green belts are being built on 108 hectares of area. Construction of new green belts on 108 hectares of area, forest restoration works on 85 hectares area are being carried out. About 56,000 hectares of our forest areas was completely destroyed by the enemy. Forest restoration works are being carried out in those areas. We planned forest restoration works in in Jabrayil, Zangilan and Fuzuli on 85 hectares of lands this year. We are almost completing those projects. The reason for the slight delay is that the areas are mined. As the lands are cleared of mines, we carry out forest restoration and construction of green belts.”
