"Existing palaeological monuments in the Karabakh zone were destroyed, and valuable forest areas were destroyed," said Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev during his speech at the opening ceremony of the 9th Meeting of the National Comissions for UNESCO member countries of the TURKSOY jointly organized by the National Comission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO, the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), University of ADA, and the Institute of the Development and Diplomacy of the University, APA reports.
"During those years Armenia has seruiously damaged the natural massif in our liberated territories. Trees over 2500 years old were cut down and destroyed," Minister stressed.
