An urgent ceasefire is urgently needed to prevent more deaths in Ukraine and to restore peace and stability, said Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said this.
He noted that Turkey is making every effort to safely evacuate people from the war-torn areas.
"We continue to be in constant contact with both sides, especially for the evacuation of our citizens and civilians from Mariupol. We have made every effort to establish peace and stability in our region, including using the powers granted to our country by the Montreux Straits Convention, and we will continue to do so. "We hope for a ceasefire soon, with common sense prevailing in the region," he said.
