The relocation convoy has reached Kangarli village in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district, the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons of the Republic of Azerbaijan told APA.
On June 18, the convoy heading to their native lands arrived in Kangarli. Keys to newly built individual houses were handed over to 40 families totaling 154 people, in this phase of resettlement.
Representatives from the Special Representative of the President in the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend districts, as well as the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons of the Republic of Azerbaijan, attended the ceremony. Currently, over 43,000 people live in Karabakh and East Zangazur, including former IDPs relocated there, workers involved in ongoing projects, staff of local government bodies, and employees of newly reopened healthcare, education, culture, tourism, industry, and energy institutions.
