The 16 Azerbaijani citizens recently repatriated from Syria by the Azerbaijani Government have been accommodated at a relevant social service institution under the Social Services Agency of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the Ministry told APA.
According to the Ministry, nine of them are children and seven are women.
It was reported that the repatriated individuals have been provided with initial medical and psychosocial assistance.
After the rehabilitation process is completed, the citizens will be sent to their homes. At the next stage, the Agency's social workers and psychologists will visit their places of residence to conduct a detailed assessment.
In recent years, the Social Services Agency has provided social rehabilitation services to more than 600 people repatriated to Azerbaijan. Social rehabilitation work is currently ongoing with 84 repatriates.
