Archeological excavation in ancient Gogur Gala settlement concluded

Baku. Laura Jabrayilli-APA. Archeological excavation carried out in ancient Gogur Gala settlement in Nakhchivan has been concluded, Gahraman Agayev, Head of Scientific expedition told APA.
He stated that this ancient settlement belonged to late III millennium BC and early I millennium BC.
“This monument is supposed to belong to late Bronze Age and early Iron Age. The investigations discovered that there was permanent life in the ancient settlement and it lasted till nowadays. There were several movements after 14th-16th centuries and residents moved to lower part of Shahtakhti village. 85-centimetre stratum has been found during excavations”, he said.
Agayev added that investigations had been concluded and large-scale excavations would be carried out from next year.
