State Labor Inspection to start inspecting building companies next week

The inspection aims to ensure employersâ€™ signing of labor agreement with employees and setting up safe labor condition, reduce maximally number of accidents causing injury and death. The inspections will cover all the big cities of the republic. Inspections will be carried out in Baku first of all.
â€œSLI will carry out inspections independently as it is the body which controls labour legislation. We invite a team of Economic Development Ministry to the inspections. Signing agreements, working hour and so on will be examined during the inspections,â€ he said.
Mr.Shukurlu also said that these inspections will not be completed soon as they will be comprehensive.
â€œThese are not raids which are concluded in a day. The inspections will be long-lasting, all the issues will be on focus. If it is said that only nine workers are involved to the construction of multi-storey building, this is absurd. Over 50 construction workers can work in such constructions,â€ he said.
The SLI chief also said that inspections in building companies in Baku will last several months, â€œThe companies failing to comply with the legislation, ensure safer working condition, safeguard for workers will be found out and made public.â€ /APA/
