Ramiz Mehdiyev: Baku municipality will not be set up

Baku municipality will not be established. Rafael Allahverdiyev initiated this proposal in 1998-1999, he had subjective interests regarding that, head of Presidentâ€™s Office Ramiz Mehdiyev said, APA reports.
Mr.Mehdiyev stated that state leadership has no intention to establish common municipality in Baku.
â€œThere are municipalities in the regions and villages of Baku, they meet all the requirements,â€ he said.
Mr.Mehdiyev commenting on the illegal purchase of lands in the balance of municipalities stressed his disapproval of that.
â€œMy approach towards this issue is negative. The lands are given to municipalities not to sell it by auction. The lands are given to them so that they can earn money, open new job places, deal with social problems,â€ he said.
The head of Presidentâ€™s Office also stressed that commitments of the municipalities will increase gradually in the framework of laws. The municipalities have already gained experience in Azerbaijan. They can be commissioned new duties ass they are gaining much more experience. /APA/
