Ministry of Health conducts monitoring in pharmacies

It is a result of monitoring of pharmaceuticals imported till June 1. They will be withdrawn from sale in a short time, chief of Health Ministry’s Center for Analytic Examination of Medicines Parviz Azizbayov told APA.

According to him, the ministry’s employees are conducting monitoring in the pharmacies in Binagadi district: “Quality, registration, certification, as well as existence of product inserts of the pharmaceuticals in Azerbaijani language are inspected during the monitoring. The examinations have not finished yet. The results will be made public after the end of the monitoring. Then the researches will start in the other regions too”.

Azizbayov said that the Health Ministry stopped the import of pharmaceuticals without products inserts in Azerbaijani language from June 1: “The medicines without insert in Azerbaijani language are not allowed to be imported. This ban will be in force according to the legislation.”

He reminded that 54 medicines, which didn’t have a certificate, were withdrawn from sale, confiscated and destroyed as a result of Center’s last examinations in Yasamal district. 95 pharmacies were examined, the activity of 6 unlicensed pharmacies was suspended in the first quarter of the year.

Generally, 1428 medicines, which don’t have a certificate, were confiscated.
