MP: â€œPrice of cigarette will rise in Azerbaijanâ€

Mammadov said that it was an unpleasant fact and added that the Azerbaijani government had to join efforts against the tobacco epidemic.

In his speech, MP Musa Guliyev spoke about the measures for combating the tobacco. He said that it was necessary to restrict the tobacco producers for combating the tobacco. Guliyev said that Azerbaijan was one of the countries where the tobacco and tobacco products are cheap. According to him, it will be recommended to increase the excise taxes used in cigarette production in the country. The relevant amendments will be made to the Tax Code concerning it: â€œThe price of tobacco products will rise and it will decrease the tendency of poor people to the cigarette and prevent the acquisition of cigarette by teenagers and childrenâ€.

The MP also noted that the law, which will create serious legal basis of work on combating the cigarette, will be adopted in Azerbaijan in the near future.
