Over AZN 30.3 million allocated to eliminate natural disasters in Azerbaijan this year

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev – APA. 140 were rescued in 5684 fires in the country in 2009. APA reports that Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov said no fact of drowning had been recorded in the water basins, 54 had been drowned in the uncontrolled water basins. 251 people were rescued in the controlled beaches.

Kamaladdin Heydarov said 375 people had been rescued, 131 people offered emergency medical aid in 524 accidents.
“201 hectare unharvested field of wheat burnt, approximately 72,000 hectare field of wheat was protected. Along with the work done to eliminate the consequences of the natural and man-made disasters, to ensure security in the social facilities the ministry did repairs and reinforcement worth 1 865 500 in 19 facilities,” he said.

According to Kamaladdin Heydarov, showers caused serious damage to the individual houses, social facilities and infrastructure in Masalli, Shirvan, Gabala, Gakh, Khachmaz, Gusar and Hajigabul regions. About 300 houses were flooded in Hajigabul.
“Over AZN 30.3 million has been allocated to eliminate the natural disasters this year. New houses have been built for the people who suffered in the aftermath of the natural disasters in various regions,” he said.
