Azerbaijan hosts the first meeting of WCO Centers for European Region

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-ECONOMICS. Baku Regional Training Center has hosted the first meeting of the regional training centers for European region of the World Customs Organization (WCO) on December 3-4, Azerbaijan State Customs Committee said in a statement

The event was attended by representatives of customs services of Azerbaijan, Hungary, Macedonia, Kazakhstan, Russia, and the high officials of the WTO.

Rza Hasanaliyev, Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijanâ€™s State Customs Committee, said that the meeting was focusing on a number of topics of mutual concern including training issues at the regional level.

He added that meeting would contribute to the establishment of closer relations between regional centers and coordination of this cooperation.

He stressed that under the memorandum of understanding signed between the WTO and the State Customs Committee in November to establish a WTO Regional European Office for Capacity Building, another regional department of the WTO will soon be launched in Azerbaijan.
