Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. The “International Women’s Club” has held a charity event today. APA reports the event was initiated by Gunay Kilic, the spouse of Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan. According to her, every month the club organizes a tea-table to make the participants closer to her country: “Here you will acquaint yourselves with history, culture, art and tourism potentials of Turkey. In spite of global economic crisis, an influx of tourists to Turkey has increased this year. It’s not only because of rich historical and cultural places of Turkey, it’s also because of development of Turkish tourism infrastructure. 39 of 100 best hotels in Europe, 20 of 100 best hotels in the world are located in Turkey”. Kilic noted that Istanbul is declared as the European Capital of Culture in 2010. A film devoted to history and culture of Turkey was demonstrated at the event. The participants tasted delicious Turkish national cuisine. She said the funds raised at the event would be spent to the children in need.
