Nurida Ateshi appeals to Mahmud Karimov

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva â€“ APA. Nurida Ateshi, director of Germany-based Azerbaijan Culture Institute named after Nizami Ganjavi, appealed to President of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Mahmud Karimov, APA reports. Ateshi says she has been studying Caucasian amazons for 14 years and notes that the scientific conference held with the support of Mahmud Karimov in Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences on August 11 made resonance.
â€œFamous archeologists, historians of Europe regard the study of the Caucasian amazons as a new page in the world amazon research. The results that I have made are as follows:

-The first cave of the amazons is in Gobustan, which is situated in our motherland and has been included into the world cultural heritage (especially, Ana zagha and seven beauties caves);

-Novruz, the greatest national holiday of the ancient East, is the heritage of amazons to us;

-The ancient lands of Caucasus Albania â€“ Derbent, Gabala, Oghuz, Gakh, especially Karabakh region are the native lands of amazons;

-The thesis written by antique historian Lusias â€œAmazons were the first ever ridersâ€ proves that the horse and ox in the Gobustan rock paintings (Turan Bos primigenius boj) were first tamed by amazons.â€

Nurida Ateshi says the name Amazon was arisen from the name of Alazan River flowing through the territory of Azerbaijan and Georgia: â€œIn addition, Iâ€™m proud to prove that legendary Amazons - the most powerful women ever, were the ancestors of todayâ€™s Azerbaijani women. All my discoveries are based on ancient Greek, Roman historians and writers (Homer, Herodotus, Strabon, Pausanias, Arrian), Chinese epitaphs and archeological excavations carried out in the Caucasus, especially in Azerbaijan within the past 50 years,â€ she said.

Honorable President! This big and very responsible research is beyond the power of one researcher both in terms of time, and from the material, moral and physical aspect. Earlier, I had applied to you concerning the necessity of making historical and documentary film about the Caucasian amazons and establishing museum of Caucasian amazons in Azerbaijanâ€™s capital.

At the time, when international interest in the Caucasus has increased, it will have a positive influence on the international image of Azerbaijan to draw the attention of the world to Azerbaijan in terms of protecting Caucasian Albania, Karabakh. I ask you to support this historical, scientific research. I ask you to involve Azerbaijani scientists, archeologists to these researches.
