Workshop “Modern climate changes and Azerbaijan” takes place

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev – APA. Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency (AzerTAc) and UNESCO Bureau in Moscow has today held a workshop on the theme “Modern climate changes and Azerbaijan”, APA reports. The correspondents of the media outlets writing about the ecological problems attended the workshop. The aim of the workshop was to increase proficiency of the journalists writing about ecological problems in Azerbaijan, acquaint media representatives with the main causes of the global climate changes, their impact on Azerbaijan and region, raise awareness of the people about the climate changes. Making a keynote speech AzerTAc Director General Aslan Aslanov expressed his confidence that the event will be effective. He said the event organized together with UNESCO is of great importance.

First secretary of the National Commission of Azerbaijan for UNESCO Gunay Efendiyeva gave detailed information about the aim of the workshop.

Outstanding scientists and experts on ecology made reports on the themes “Influence of the global climate changes on Azerbaijan’s hydrometeorological condition”, “Alternative energy sources. Energy efficiency. Climate changes”, “Influence of the climate changes on the level of the Caspian Sea”.
