World Health Organization to send swine flu vaccines to Azerbaijan by stages within five months

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva â€“ APA. World Health Organization (WHO) will send the vaccines against A/H1N1 virus (swine flu) to Azerbaijan by stages within five months, WHO program coordinator Elkhan Gasimov told APA. He said the firs part of the vaccines will be sent late in November â€“ early in December, it will consist of 170,000 dose and cover approximately 1-2 percent of Azerbaijanâ€™s population.
â€œThe vaccines will be sent in the following months. WHO plans to send vaccines that will be cover 8-10 percent of the Azerbaijani population,â€ he said.
Gasimov said WHO pays attention to the epidemiological situation and the measures taken concerning the swine flu in Azerbaijan.
â€œWe consider that Azerbaijani Health Ministry is taking adequate steps and working together with all other related bodies,â€ he said.
