Azerbaijan Health Ministry: If epidemiological situation over â€œswine fluâ€ strains, the government can bring closing of schools on agenda

He said this issue could be addressed by the Health Ministry and decided by the government. â€œHeaven forbid that there should be such situation in Azerbaijan. If there is such situation, the health institutions should make proposals on thatâ€.

Muradov expressed his opinion about the probability of changing autumn vacation period in the schools. â€œThe school regulations, old and new education laws consider that local authorities can change the vacation period on the appeal of regional education offices and sanitary-epidemiological stations during natural disasters or other emergency situations. But there is no need in it yetâ€.

Chief of the sanitary-epidemiological sector of the Health Ministry Victor Gasimov told APA it is early to raise the issue of closing the schools in Azerbaijan because of â€œswine fluâ€ alert. â€œThis is third case in Azerbaijan. Earlier two cases were identified in July. The schools can not be closed because of only case. But the issue will be reviewed depending on the epidemiological situation. If the epidemiological situation strains and the number of â€œswine fluâ€-infected people raises, the issue will be reviewed by the governmentâ€.
