Rector: â€œReturning of Mammad Amin Rasulzadehâ€™s name to Baku State University may be considered on the occasion of the 90th anniversaryâ€

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva â€“ APA. Two-day international scientific conference on the 90th anniversary of Baku State University has started today, APA reports. Rector of Baku State University Abel Maharramov said that guests from Georgia, Germany, Russia and Tajikistan are participating in the conference, over 800 reports will be made.
â€œBaku State University is the first secular higher school of the East, the first higher school of Azerbaijan. Baku State University has historical merits in the development of Azerbaijani statehood. Therefore the anniversary of the university is a national holiday,â€ he said.
Abel Maharramov said over 300 flats will be presented to the teachers of the university on the occasion of the anniversary. Rector said a summit will be held on the highest level on November 2.
â€œGuests from a number of higher schools of the world will attend the summit. Rectors of over 20 higher schools of the world will attend the summit. Rector of Moscow State University, rectors of Turkeyâ€™s leading higher schools will also attend the event. More than 70 delegations will attend the summit,â€ he said.

Abel Maharramov said the returning of the name of Mammad Amin Rasulzadeh to the university may be considered.
â€œThis issue is, of course, on the agenda. Baku State University is the memory of Azerbaijan Peopleâ€™s Republic. This memory lived bitter days and wrote glorious history. Therefore, we always respect its founders â€“ Mammad Amin Rasulzadeh, Fatali Khan Khoyski, Nasib bey Yusifbeyli,â€ he said.
