First anti-â€œswine fluâ€ vaccines to be brought to Azerbaijan next month

According to WHO latest reports, 415 000 AH1N1-infected people were identified in the world and 5000, most in the American countries, died from this disease. 2.3 percent of infected people in this region died. 261(0.4%) of 63 000 infected people in Europe died.

Two cases were identified in Azerbaijan in July and both were infected abroad (France and UK). The Health Ministry has strengthened the preventive and anti-epidemic measures against flu and other respiratory infections since than.

A modern laboratory for flu diagnosis and special treatment boxes were organized at the Lung Diseases Institute. The Republican Anti-Plague Station conducts PSR-laboratory exams for identification of â€œswine fluâ€ virus. There are reserves of oseltamivir and other drugs used in the treatment of disease, disinfection substances, personal protection devices and etc.
