Azerbaijani, German universities develop cooperation

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva â€“ APA. Azerbaijan State University of Economics hosted the conference â€œExperience and prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijani and German universitiesâ€ within the Azerbaijan-German Days of High Education. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan and German Academic Exchange Program (DAAD). Azerbaijani university rectors and representatives of more than 20 universities of Germany attended the conference. In his welcoming speech, the Minister of Education of Azerbaijan Misir Mardanov said Azerbaijan and Germany were working together in all spheres, including education. â€œWe need to strengthen this potential. This is first conference not only in Azerbaijan, but in whole South Caucasus. It will develop academic exchange and create opportunity for the scholars to exchange experiences and give to the university rectors an opportunity to keep direct relations with their German colleaguesâ€. The minister said the number of Azerbaijani students studying in Germany was increasing year-by-year. 74 Azerbaijani students are getting education in Germany within the government program now. Mardanov said most of Azerbaijani students were attending the academic programs in economics, finance, medicine and agriculture.
