Baku – APA. A Day of German Language was marked at Azerbaijan University of Languages.
Dean of German School of the university Ulduz Aslanova welcomed the participants and said that the German language is taught in the university for 60 years, press service of the university told APA. “The German language started to be taught at the university in 1936-1937. The German School was established at the Azerbaijan Pedagogical University in 1949. It was a start of history of the Azerbaijan University of Languagesâ€.
Representative of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to ALU Martina Liza and other speakers noted that learning of language and culture of the German people, who brought up Hegel, Goethe and Heine, plays an important role in the development of cultural relations between the peoples.
The students read poems of the famous German poets at the end.
