Baku. Kamala Guliyeva – APA. The State Committee on Problems of Women, Children and Families organized a round table on the “Gender aspects of tolerant societies and the role of communities”. Chairwoman of the committee Hicran Huseynova said Azerbaijan was known as a tolerant country in the world, APA reports. She said the committee for religious associations and law on freedom of faiths in Azerbaijan created opportunity to regulate many issues in this filed. Huseynova said Azerbaijan positively differed in the Islamic world and Europe for gender equality. “European moral norms presented as new spiritual values confused the people. It increased divorces, early marriages and extramarital families in the society. Unfortunately estranging from national values increased domestic violence and made woman trafficking a serious problem”.

Member of the parliament Ganira Pashayeva focused attention on the increasing of synagogues and churches in Azerbaijan during the independence. “There are only 200 Catholics in the country, but they have Catholic Church here.
