Famous jazz performers to participate in International Jazz Festival in Baku

Famous jazz performers will participate in the International Jazz Festival that will be held in Baku on October 21-27, spokesperson for Culture and Tourism Ministry Zohra Aliyeva told APA. She said Richard Bona and Branford Marsalis groups (US), dZihan & Kamien duo (Austria), Jazzinho (Portugal), Hard Jazz Knights (Israel), participants of the Baku International Mugham Festival Vasumathi Badrinathan (India) and Amir Elsaffar (US) were invited to the festival. The opening of the festival will be held in Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Society on October 21. Azerbaijan State Symphonic Orchestra named Uzeyir Hajibayli will participate in the concert. The program of the concert includes Candide overture by Bernstein, Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra by Krautgartner, Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin, West side Story by Bernstein.

Isfar Sarabski (piano) will give a concert in the Jazz Center on October 22. Alexander Zinger (percussion instruments) and Ruslan Huseynov (bass) will share the stage with him. â€œJazzing the Beatlesâ€ Hard Jazz Knights will perform in the Jazz Center that day. Jamil Amirov and Savab group will perform in the House of actors on October 23. The group is composed of Anvar Sadigov (accordion), Emil Hasanov (bass guitar), Isgandar Alasgarov (percussion instruments). Jazzinho group will give a concert in Face club on October 23.

dZihan & Kamien duo will give an interesting concert on October 24. Richard Bona group will give concert in Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theater on October 25, Salman Gambarov and Bakustic Jazz group will give a concert together with Vasumathi Badrinathan and Amir Elsaffar on October 26.

The final concert of the festival will be held in Azerbaijan Philharmonic Society on October 27. Branford Marsalis will perform in the concert.
