Fakhriya Khalafova: â€œMaking a perfume doesn’t cost more than buying a carâ€ - <font color=red>INTERVIEW - PHOTO</font>

Perfume collection Nuray will be sold at an affordable price

Baku. Ulkar Gasimova â€“ APA. Famous Azerbaijani designer, honored art figure and perfumer Fakhriya Khalafova will present her perfume collection Nuray in Heydar Aliyev Palace in two days. The perfume will be on sale late in November. Fakhriya Khalafova said this in her interview to APA.

-I thought over producing perfume for a long time. I used to touch on this topic in my conversations with professionals, learned their opinion. Pierre Cardin gave several recommendations to me when we got acquainted. All famous fashion brands have their perfumes. I decided to realize my idea. But this is a complex process, and like in the fashion world it can be both successful and unsuccessful. This is connected with feelings, emotions and tastes. First of all quality of the perfume is important, secondly every perfumer should have his (her) own natural formula. Every perfumer demonstrates taste in the perfume. I visited Morocco when I was preparing the perfume. I had an opportunity to complete this formula in Grasia, the center of fragrances. After that I thought I could start production. I was engaged in the design of the perfume for some time. The perfume is ready and I am glad. I decided to present my perfume in a mass event before putting it to sale. Kelly Rowland and Timati will give a concert in Heydar Aliyev Palace on October 8. My perfume Nuray will be presented there. This is my third cooperation with them. The people will watch the concert and familiarize with the testers of the perfume.

-In what country the last process and packaging of the perfume was prepared?

-Printing and packaging were prepared in Turkey. We chose that country because of the close distance. On the other hand, I thought if I change the design during printing they will not object to it. But it is impossible in Europe. The design is confirmed and it is impossible to change it. I changed the design of my perfume three times and it was printed three times. The formula of the perfume was prepared in Grasia. After the perfume is ready you get an official certificate on perfumery. I am glad that I received this certificate. The process of the preparation of the perfume was filmed. For the first time I will present this film to media. Commercials of the perfume are being prepared by Agil M. Guliyev. If audiences are satisfied with perfume and it meets their taste, I will take the examination.

- Are there special guests invited to the first large presentation?

- This is concert program and is open for everyone. There are several friends I invited them to the first presentation. Those, who support me in this project and wish to participate in the presentation, are also among the invitees. I will present three perfumes in Nuray Collection. The perfumes are packed in same style, but have different smells, flacons and colors. This is new tendency. Three perfumes are presented in one collection. They told me that it is difficult to withstand competition with only perfume. All three meet different tastes and cover different age categories. I would like everybody to come to the concert and to find her perfume.

- Are you satisfied with your achievements?

- Yes, I am. Because I have achieved my goals. It was a goal and dream at the same time. Those who saw the perfumes before the presentation liked them. I think the perfumes prepared with love and from heart should be liked. Nuray is my niece. She is very little, but she was always encouraging me. When I look at her I see my features and mood in her as I see myself from outside. Nuray inspired me and I prepared this perfume for her. I played a role of chemist. They asked why you didnâ€™t name the collection Fakhriya Khalafova? I told them that Fakhriya Khalafova produced this perfume as a trade mark. There should be another inspiration and this was Nuray. I promised to her that if I produce perfume I will name it for her.

- How much will Nuray perfume cost? Where are you planning to sell the perfume outside Azerbaijan?

- We need to do huge work to organize its sale in Azerbaijan. The perfume will be on sale later in November. It will be distributed among all perfume chains and they already expressed wishes to purchase it. It will have reasonable price. I finished the first process â€“ production. There is phase of advertising. I think to organize sale here. The international sale is my second goal. We need to make international brand at first. It should be confirmed at the international level that to organize international sale. I think I will achieve it one day. It will take some five years.

- How many resources were spent to the production of these perfumes?

- The production process covered different phases. It was not so much, but normal figure. Making a perfume doesn’t cost more than buying a car. I will announce it only at the press conference. I should calculate it before.

- What measures are you thinking to take for prevention of false copies?

- Both Fakhriya Khalafova brand and Nuray perfume collection are connected with my name. It was officially confirmed. I received copyrights for both of them. I think no one will do that against me and everyone will respect my work.

- It seems your perfume business has traditional character. Will you develop it?

- The next perfume will be for men. Then I will produce exclusive and more expensive perfume for women. I am planning to begin production of perfume for men later in November. I believe my perfume business will not influence on my fashion art. I think to pass to the large production in fashion art as well. I believe the production work will be completed when Fakhriya Khalafova brand celebrates its 50-60 years. It is just at 10.

- Will you present your perfumes during the international fashion events?

- Those are completely different spheres and their advertising has different directions. We are planning to attend perfume exhibitions. I have not received any invitation yet because our perfume is new. I would like to attend perfume exhibitions in Cannes and Florence and to present my products.
