Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office, Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade on Monday slammed Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, for not acting in accordance with the statements he signed on the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
“Through the efforts of various intermediaries, I held several meetings with Armenian religious leaders since the beginning of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to achieve peace, and I’m ready for it once more,” said Pashazade. “We have always signed joint statements on the outcomes of these meetings, but the opposite side hasn’t acted in accordance those statements.”
The CMO chairman welcomed the proposal of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to hold the next meeting following the April clashes on the contact line of Armenian and Azerbaijani troops.
“However, the Armenian side has not yet responded to the proposal,” he added.
