Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. Whoever will use religious calendars other than the common Islamic calendar which we have prepared for all denominations will have caused sectarian dissent, Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) Chairman Allahshukur Pashazadeh said on Tuesday.
“We used to prepare the Islamic calendar for the period from one Muharram to the next. But since our state is secular and our official calendar begins in January, from now on we will also prepare the religious calendar in January in order not to differ from the official calendar. Whoever will use religious calendars other than the common Islamic calendar which we have prepared for all denominations will have caused sectarian dissent, which is deemed religious provocation and criminal responsibility,” the CMO chairman said.
