Imam of Abu Bakr mosque Gamet Suleymanov: â€œOur religious community has stopped its activityâ€

He said that his religious community was registered in the State Committee on Work with Religious Associations in 2002 and was legal.

Gamet Suleymanov also noted that the community had never been engaged in politics.
â€œThe activity of our religious community covers enrichment of moral values, instillation of devotion to motherland in the youth. Thatâ€™s why we have become the target of radical groups,â€ he said.

Gamet Suleymanov some of the media reports about the explosion committed in Abu Bakr mosque on August 17 were biased.
â€œThey say about 1000 residents living in the street, where the mosque is located, want the mosque to be closed once and for all. The â€œcauseâ€ of the complaint is that the street is dirty and Abu Bakr mosque is dangerous. The residents have never appealed to our mosque. If they had been disturbed, at least one would have been complained of it within 10 years,â€ he said.
