President Ilham Aliyev congratulates Azerbaijanâ€™s Orthodox Christian community on Easter

The congratulation message reads:

â€œI congratulate all Christian community of Azerbaijan on the occasion of Easter, wish you good health and happiness.

For centuries the representatives of various nations and religions have been living in Azerbaijan in peace, in the atmosphere of mutual respect and confidence, have preserved their ethnic-cultural diversity, their language and culture. Tolerance having deep historical roots and traditions of multiculturalism are the major social values of our modern society. Irrespective of language, religion and ethnic affiliation all the national minorities of our country, including Orthodox Christians make their contributions to the people-to-people and interreligious relations, take active part in our socio-political and socio-cultural life, in the formation of civil society.

Easter is a symbol of peace, solidarity, mercy and kindness. On this sacred day I wish you holiday spirit, happiness and welfare to your families.
