Rumors about the removal of the mosque in the area of the Alley of Martyrs are not true. This mosque will continue working in the future,” said Chairman of the Caucasian Muslim Board (CMB) Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, APA reports.

Sheikh-ul-Islam said that the government of Azerbaijan attentively cares about the construction, reconstruction and protection of the mosques and other religious monuments: “Once there are only 18 mosques in Azerbaijan but after reaching the independence more than 2 thousands mosques have been constructed in the country.”

Head of the Turkey’s Directorate of Religious Affairs Mehmet Gormez and Chairman of the Caucasian Muslim Board (CMB) Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh addressed the Baku City Mayor Hajibala Abutalibov to allocate place for the construction of Jumah Mosque in Baku and the Mayor signed relevant order on this issue.
