President Ilham Aliyev congratulates Azerbaijanâ€™s Orthodox Christian community on Christmas

APA reports that the letter reads: â€œI congratulate all Christian community of Azerbaijan on the occasion of Christmas and I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to you in such a dear day.

The religions and confessions in Azerbaijan, which is known today as a model of tolerance, place of inter- civilizations and intercultural dialogue, historically have been in tranquility, mutual respect and trust conditions, separate people and ethnic communities, which are the representatives of various cultures, showed the love of country, union and solidarity around the idea of Azerbaijan.

The maintenance of ethnic-cultural diversity, support and popularization of multiculturalism in our society are one of the leading objectives of the state policy pursued by us in the modern stage. I would like to note that the Christian community, which has typical place and role in Azerbaijanâ€™s rich ethnic and cultural palette, including our orthodox compatriots closely participate in the great construction works carried out in our country.
