State Committee: Iranian Ayatollah shows his illiteracy using phrase â€œstate of Bakuâ€ while speaking about Azerbaijan

Such ayatollahs like Sadigi use Islam for their own goals and put forward biased claims that Azerbaijan bans womenâ€™s headscarves, creates confrontation with the believers. It is irrationality and slander, which is considered as a great sin. Our country, which regained its independence, never bans the womenâ€™s headscarvesâ€, department chief of the State Committee on Work with Religious Associations Aliheydar Zulfugarov said commenting on Ayatollah Sadigiâ€™s thoughts, APA reports. Zulfugarov said as distinct from some countries, women in Azerbaijan wear hijab of their own will and it is an example of the right of free choice giving to the people by the state. â€œThe countryâ€™s education system is separated from the religion, all religions are equal before the law and all were provided with equal conditions. The ayatollahs forget that Azerbaijan is governed by the secular laws, but not fatwa. It is needed to remind them that the principle of supremacy of law is protected in our country in a high level. According to our laws, all Islamic ceremonies are headed by the Azerbaijani citizens educated in Azerbaijan. This issue doesnâ€™t need in additional explanationâ€.

Zulfugarov said the groundless and purposeful statements by some persons in the neighbor country, who speak on behalf of the religion, are based on the irritation caused by failure of their â€œplansâ€ concerning Azerbaijan. â€œAzerbaijanâ€™s commitment to the principle of tolerance in the inter-religions relations upsets ayatollahs seriously and using the last way out they try to make Azerbaijani believers to oppose to the state. Using the words and phrases like â€œjihadâ€, â€œmartyrdomâ€, â€œoverthrowing from the throne of powerâ€ they show their both religious and political instabilityâ€.
