State registration of 20 religious communities rejected in Azerbaijan

Hidayat Orujov said the registration was rejected as those communities did not have proper documents, the documents were not in accordance with the legislation. According to him, the State Committee is considering the documents of approximately 400 religious communities.
â€œRe-registration will continue,â€ he said.

Re-registration of the religious communities began after amendments were made to the law on â€œFreedom of religion and conscienceâ€. 450 religious communities have been re-registered after the process of re-registration began.
