USAID boxes found in "Hezbollah" warehouse

In Lebanon, unidentified boxes belonging to USAID (the United States Agency for International Development) have been discovered in secret weapon depots belonging to the "Hezbollah" terrorist organization.

The boxes were labeled with the message "With love from U.S. taxpayers to Hezbollah," along with the logos of USAID and UNICEF.

A Hezbollah arms cache in Lebanon included USAID boxes and UNICEF folders.

Following this incident, the Israeli government has initiated a process to sever ties with the agency.

Asher Fredman, Executive Director of the National Security Strategy Institute in Israel, told local media that sniper rifles, anti-tank missiles, and various types of explosives were seized from the secret warehouse.

The "NGOMonitor" portal has announced that it possesses evidence indicating that USAID's allocated financial aid, primarily funded by American taxpayers, has been regularly directed to terrorist groups in Lebanon, Yemen, and Gaza.

Asher Fredman also wrote on his X account that during his humanitarian mission in Lebanon last year, his investigations led him to discover aid packages belonging to UNICEF and USAID.

Matthew Bryza: "The evidence is not sufficient, but..."

Former American diplomat Matthew Bryza believes that when such information is disseminated, it is essential to consider the official stance of Washington on Hezbollah and its position regarding this group. In a conversation with APA’s correspondent, Bryza expressed skepticism about accepting the released photographs as conclusive evidence: "A single photo, or even several photos, along with statements from a former Israeli military officer, are not sufficient to confirm that USAID-labeled boxes were found alongside weapons in Hezbollah's warehouses. Both the U.S. government and USAID itself view Hezbollah not as a friend but as an enemy and a terrorist organization that must be defeated."

According to Matthew Bryza, aid sent to the region by USAID and other NGOs from various countries is frequently looted by terrorists, either for personal use or to be sold for profit: "I reiterate that a more detailed understanding of the situation requires additional information. Hezbollah is also a political organization represented in the Lebanese Parliament. I believe this factor explains how USAID-labeled packages may have ended up in their hands. Hezbollah operates a network in Lebanon that provides humanitarian assistance to the population."

Israeli political commentator: "Americans and Europeans should know their money is being spent to support terrorists"

Israeli political commentator Elina Bardach-Yalov, in an interview with APA, stated that it is widely known that humanitarian aid from Europe and the U.S. frequently falls into the hands of terrorist groups.

"We have rarely witnessed these aid packages actually reaching civilian populations. The consequences of such assistance ending up with terrorist organizations are well known. I believe American and European taxpayers should be aware that their money is not being used to feed starving children in Lebanon and Gaza but rather to support terrorists. These funds are primarily used by terrorists to plan future attacks. We know this, but the entire world needs to be made aware of these facts. Israel understands that our international partners often refuse to acknowledge this undeniable truth."

Bardach-Yalov also recalled that after it was revealed that funds allocated to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) had been used to finance the October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel, then-U.S. President Donald Trump decided to cut funding for the agency.

UNRWA aid and its connection to Hamas – How are the funds being redirected?

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) is one of the primary organizations providing humanitarian aid to Palestinian refugees. However, in recent years, allegations have emerged that UNRWA’s funds and resources have, in some cases, been used in attacks against Israel.

In August 2024, it was determined that nine UNRWA employees had participated in Hamas' attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, leading to their dismissal.

In January 2024, during a military operation in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army reported finding weapons and explosives in UNRWA-labeled shipments.

Following these allegations, several countries, including Japan and the United States, suspended financial aid to UNRWA.

What is the latest situation regarding USAID?

The activities of USAID (United States Agency for International Development) have been described as “wastefulness and fraud” by U.S. President Donald Trump. Trump has decided to abolish the agency and has significantly reduced its number of employees. He has criticized USAID as an organization “run by radical leftists” and has demanded its closure.

American entrepreneur Elon Musk also stated on his X page: “The deeper I investigate USAID, the more it becomes clear that this is not just an apple with a worm inside, but actually a whole ball of worms.”
