French President Emmanuel Macron was deeply dissatisfied with the work of the French negotiation team at COP29 in Baku.

According to diplomatic sources, Macron instructed the French delegation at COP29 in Baku to obstruct consensus and prevent any outcomes from being achieved.

 However, his efforts were unsuccessful.

A deal known as the " Baku Breakthrough" was reached during COP29 negotiations, with the United Kingdom, the United States, and China expressing satisfaction with its outcomes.

As for France and India, they were not pleased with the results.

It is well known that France, and personally Macron, made significant efforts long in advance to hinder the success of COP29.

As reported earlier, France had also exerted considerable diplomatic efforts, especially in Europe and Africa, to promote a boycott of COP29.

As a result of these efforts, Macron succeeded in ensuring that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof did not attend COP29 in Baku. However, Africa did not follow his lead and was maximum represented at COP29.

Macron's approach to such a globally significant event through the lens of personal bias is yet another indication of the inferiority complex he suffers from as a political figure. COP is a UN event, and Azerbaijan is its host. France is one of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, which also means that it should be making greater efforts to ensure the success of UN events and to enhance the organization's reputation. In this instance, however, we see France—and specifically its president—adopting a stance of sabotage against the UN.

Another point concerns the philosophy of COP itself. As is well known, the aim of the whole world is to unite at COP in a collective fight against climate change. France, however, has chosen a non-constructive path on this issue as well, attempting to boycott the event.

Through these actions, Macron once again demonstrates his inability to come to terms with Azerbaijan's liberation of its territories from Armenian occupation after 30 years. Until the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020—when Azerbaijan’s territories were still under occupation—France made efforts to maintain high-level relations with Azerbaijan. However, after Azerbaijan liberated its territories, these relations took a completely opposite turn.

Since that time, France has pursued a policy of bias, spite, and hate towards Azerbaijan. It is evident that France is arming Armenia, providing all kinds of economic and political support, and preparing Yerevan for revenge. On the issue of supporting Armenia, India follows the same course as France. As noted earlier, like France, India was also dissatisfied with the outcomes reached at COP29. Similarly, India is actively engaged in arming Armenia, just as France is.

Despite Macron's efforts, COP29, organized by Azerbaijan, was held at a high level and concluded successfully. Representatives from 198 countries participated in the event, with nearly 80,000 individuals registering. This was the second-largest COP in terms of participation, following COP28.

African nations, which suffer significantly from the effects of climate change, due to the actions of colonial countries like France, sent broader delegations to COP29. Additionally, Azerbaijan became a venue for representatives of small island states affected by climate change and nations victimized by the colonial policies of France, the Netherlands, and others, allowing them to make their voices heard.

Macron's bias against Azerbaijan, as in the past, will continue to yield no results in the future.

The policies pursued by French President Emmanuel Macron are eroding his reputation day by day. The French people are increasingly understanding his incompetence, as confirmed by a recent poll.

According to a survey conducted by the Elabe Institute at the request of France's BFMTV channel, approximately 63% of respondents believe that Macron's resignation would be necessary if a vote of no confidence were brought against the government.

The majority of the French population holds Macron accountable should such a vote occur.

It is evident that Macron's ratings continue to decline both domestically and internationally every day. Instead of devising biased political combinations against Azerbaijan, the French President would do better to focus on taking care of his own credibility.
