"We won the war and drove the occupiers out of our lands. However, we did not take revenge on them for 30 years of suffering, genocide, and the destruction of our cities and villages," President Ilham Aliyev said during his speech at the 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), APA reports.
"We took revenge on the battlefield and offered peace to Armenia. Here, too, the moral qualities of our people were once again demonstrated. We did not strike those who had already been defeated. We did not stoop to the level of the barbarians and child killers who caused so much suffering to our people. We offered peace, and we have been living in peace for a little over a year now. This peace is still fragile, and it must be protected and strengthened," the President added.
