"Memorandum of Understanding on security cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement" signed in Baku on October 11, 2024 was approved, APA reports.
President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree in this regard.
After the Memorandum of Understanding enters into force, the President-Designate of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the 19th session of the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol and the 6th session of the Meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement shall ensure the implementation of its provisions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan should send a notification to the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement that the domestic procedures necessary for the entry into force of the Memorandum of Understanding have been completed.
