Flood risks in the eastern part of Baku will be reduced, APA reports.
This is reflected in the “State Program for the Improvement of Water Supply, Stormwater, and Wastewater Systems in Baku City and the Absheron Peninsula for 2026–2035,” approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to the State Program, during 2026–2027 the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, together with the Ministry of Economy, the Azerbaijan Automobile Roads State Agency (public legal entity), the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, Baku Metro CJSC, and the Baku City Executive Authority, must ensure the continuation of the construction of the Darnagul–Bakikhanov–Garachukhur–Hovsan line, the ongoing execution of construction works with 50 percent of the planned work completed, the commissioning of a 10.4 km collector, and the reduction of flood risks.
