The ecological condition of Baku Bay will be improved, APA reports.
This is reflected in the State Program for 2026–2035 on Improving Water Supply, Stormwater, and Wastewater Systems in the City of Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to the State Program, in 2026–2027 the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, together with the Ministry of Economy, the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, Azerbaijan Railways, and the Baku City Executive Authority, must continue construction works in the relevant area and ensure the implementation of 50% of the planned activities.
As part of this effort, construction of the 28-kilometer Zigh–Hovsan sewerage collector and a new pumping station is to be carried out during this period.
