Azerbaijan has defined prohibited activities in tourism and recreation zones, this was reflected in the amendments to the Law "on Tourism," approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, APA reports.
According to the Law, the following activities are prohibited in tourism and recreation zones:
- Activities related to the chemical industry, metallurgy, and nuclear energy;
- Operations of large industrial enterprises and enterprises involved in technological equipment and machinery production;
- Activities related to the disposal and processing of waste, as well as the installation of facilities and landfills for these purposes;
- Activities specified in the annex to the "Law on Environmental Impact Assessment" (EIA) without preparing an EIA document and without said document passing a state ecological expertise, as well as other activities that do not require an EIA but are subject to state ecological expertise and are carried out without a positive conclusion from this assessment.
