During the meeting, the administrative proceedings on the violation by ANS TV of the law on TV and radio broadcasting were discussed, the NTRC told APA.
The NTRC, in accordance with Article 23.1 of the law on TV and radio broadcasting, suspended “Hesabat” analytic-informative program aired on ANS TV channel for one month from 24 January 2016 for non-compliance with the principles of objectivity, impartiality, inclusiveness, completeness, and authenticity of information, vilification of business reputation, unfair commentary on facts and events, demonstration of biased approach on 27 Dec. 2015 and 17 Jan. 2016.
In case ANS deliberately continues to spread untrue and slanderous information and disrespect supremacy of law, the TV channel will be taken legal actions against under Article 23.2.8 of the law on TV and radio broadcasting and will be held responsible for the consequences.
