Baku. Ramiz Mikayiloglu - APA. Unfortunately, our recommendations have yielded no results so far. The TV programs regarding feint, banality, over-indulgence, false scenarios, excessive exaggeration of family disputes, manipulation of the honor and dignity of people, and poor national and moral values should be suspended. We are on the right path, Chairman of the National Television and Radio Council (NTRC) Nushiravan Maharramli said on Oct.2.

According to Maharramli, the NTRC is persistent on this issue. Therefore, limit of compromise for any TV channel has already expired, and we will continue to suspend such programs.

As for the rating of those programs, Maharramli said that there no way out of this problem yet. “We are working on this issue. However, work regarding people meter organizations evokes suspicion. It is questionable which people have peoplemeter in their houses. Therefore, we are thinking on this issue. We will try to solve this issue upon transferring to digital broadcasting.

As for ANS TV and other channels’ suing NTRC over closure of programs, Maharramli said that they are not afraid of the court: “We make our decisions according to law. Anyone can sue us, we are ready for it. NTRC is a body regulating processes in the Azerbaijani channels and making decisions,” he said.
