NTRC Chairman: Laws are mostly violated by ANS TV channel

Chairman of National Television and Radio Council Nushiravan Maharramli made the remarks on Jan.23 at the press conference on the law violations by ANS TV.

He said that funds worth AZN 1,760 mln were allocated to ANS TV channel for series filming. “In this regard, AZN 1,800 mln was allocated for Lider TV and AZN 1,800 mln for Space TV. In 2015, AZN 550,000 was allocated for Region TV in this respect. This is because the TV channel has been established lately”, said Maharramli.

The chairman added that the NTRC sued ANS TV channel as it failed to fulfill its contractual obligations regarding series filming: “In regard to filming of “Absheron” series, ANS TV was to be paid AZN 200,000, namely AZN 60,000 in the first stage, AZN 100,000 in the second stage and AZN 40,000 in the third. ANS TV approached this work irresponsibly. It appealed to us regarding changing the title of “Absheron” series. Consequently, we sued it. This was the response to their objections for AZN 40,000.”

Maharramli mentioned that today the laws are mostly violated by ANS TV channel. “Our decisions are based on laws and we are confident of the accuracy of the decisions”, he added.
